Who We Are
Techrobane Studio (operating as WeddingInvites.lk), based in Sri Lanka, is the data controller responsible for personal data processed through this website and our order channels. You can reach us at techrobane@gmail.com or on WhatsApp at +94 71 626 0400 for anything in this policy.
Personal Data We Collect
When you place an order (via WhatsApp or email):
- Your full name, email address, and Sri Lankan mobile number
- Wedding details: couple names, date, venue, and event timeline
- Photos, style preferences, and customisation notes you send us
- Payment slips or transfer confirmations you share for verification
When you browse this website:
- Usage data collected by Google Analytics — pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type (see Cookies & Analytics)
- Your IP address, held briefly in server memory to prevent abuse of our chat service (rate limiting); it is not written to any database
When you use our chat assistant: the messages you type (see AI Chat Assistant).
This website has no user accounts and no customer database — we do not store orders, payment slips, or customer files on this site.
How & Why We Use Your Data
The PDPA requires us to have a lawful basis for each use of your data. Ours are:
- Performing our contract with you — creating and delivering your invitation, sending previews and the final link, and verifying payment.
- Our legitimate interests — responding to enquiries, preventing abuse of our website, and understanding site traffic to improve the service.
- Your consent — anything beyond the above, such as featuring your invitation in our portfolio with identifying details, or sending marketing messages. You can withdraw consent at any time.
We never sell your personal data, and we never use it for marketing without your consent.
AI Chat Assistant
Our website chat assistant answers questions about our services in English, Sinhala, and Tamil. When you use it:
- The messages you type are sent to Anthropic (a US company) to generate responses. Don't share sensitive information in the chat — for orders and payment details, use WhatsApp.
- We do not store chat conversations in any database; your conversation exists only in your browser during the session.
- Anthropic processes the messages as our service provider and does not use them to train its models.
How Long We Keep Your Data
- Order conversations and files remain in our WhatsApp and email history for as long as needed for delivery, support, and our normal business records, after which they are deleted.
- Payment records are kept as required for tax and accounting purposes under Sri Lankan law.
- Your live invitation page (and the wedding details on it) is removed when the link expires — 12 months after delivery unless extended.
- Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings.
You may request earlier deletion at any time — see your rights below.
Security
All website traffic is encrypted with HTTPS, and the site enforces a strict content-security policy. Because we keep no customer database, the personal data we hold lives only in our WhatsApp and email accounts, which are protected with two-factor authentication. WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted in transit.
Your Rights Under the PDPA
The Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022 gives you the right to:
- Access — ask for confirmation of what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Rectification — have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data where we no longer need it.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, for any processing based on consent (such as portfolio use).
- Object — to processing carried out for our legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, email techrobane@gmail.com with the subject line “Data Request”. We will respond within the period prescribed by the PDPA (and in any case within 21 working days), and we may ask you to verify your identity first.
Children's Data
Our services are intended for adults planning a wedding. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us their data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. Material changes will be indicated by an updated effective date at the top of this page, and — where the change significantly affects how we use your data — communicated to active customers directly.
